The Children's Home of Kingston was founded by a few individuals who felt a deep desire to help our Children in need. Below you can find more detailed information.
Our Mission
To provide a safe and supportive environment to facilitate therapeutic and educational success for children and families.
What We Provide
* A structured environment, 24 hours a day, which enables boys, ages 8-21, to explore their challenging behaviors and learn new successful ways of relating to their families and communities;
* An on-campus school that encourages boys to open themselves to learning;
* On-going support to families in order to facilitate a return to the home as soon as appropriately possible;
* A well-balanced community environment.
Programs
Residential Treatment for boys offering special education in an on-campus school; a 24-hour behavioral level child care system; family therapy; group and individual therapy, psychiatric and psychological assessments; recreation; and medical, dental, and nutritional health services.
Group Home Living for older boys who are ready to return to public schools and participate in community life.
Grove Street Academy a special education on-campus school for grades 4-11 that provides a unique individualized learning setting and intensive academic assistance.
Supervised Independent Living Program for young men and women who need an opportunity to develop, practice, evaluate, and refine their independent living skills in an apartment.
Day Program for boys referred by local school districts who need and receive special education services along with individual, group and family counseling as needed.
